Iβm all about Oktoberfest, pretzels, and bratwursts, but hey, Germany's got way more going on than just that!
Germany is a thriving hub for startups, and Berlin shines as its star player. In 2023 alone, 468 startups were founded. With people from 186 nationalities and 49% of startup employees being non-German, Berlin has one of the world's most diverse workforces.
In late 2023, Germany introduced significant financial reforms to support the tech industry. Employees can now defer taxes on stock options until they sell them, and more companies (up to 1,000 employees and $108.7 million in revenue) can now offer these plans. Additionally, new funds such as the $1.76 billion Growth Fund Germany and the DeepTech & Climate Funds are set to take growth-stage companies to new heights.
A great example for other EU countries to follow.π
